Grappling Background

• I started training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in February 1998 with my boyfriend (now my husband Brian Bird). I started getting into competing right away. My husband and I own our own club in Calgary , Alberta , Canada called BDB Martial Arts where we teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We also have Muay Thai, MMA, Judo and Freestyle wrestling at our club and I have cross-trained in all of them. In the year 2000 we became affiliated with Roy Harris from San Diego and I am currently an Associate Level Instructor under Roy Harris and a Purple belt. I am the highest ranked female in Canada and the only Canadian female to ever reach the rank of purple belt..

Future Goals

• Achieve a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

• Compete in ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club)
