Sheila Bird Recieves her Brown Belt

Congratulations to Mrs. Sheila Bird for taking and passing her brown belt examination with flying colors!

Sheila Bird is the first woman I have promoted to brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. She is also one of the first (if not THE FIRST) female brown belts in Canada!

I am very proud of Sheila! It was very obvious during her examination that she had put a lot of hard work and dedication into preparing for her examination!!! Her technique was great. Her conditioning was phenomenal. Her mind and heart were poised and determined! I squished her just like I squish all of my other new brown belts and she stood up to the fire and pressure of the two hour examination just like everyone else.

When the examination was finished, she breathed a few breaths of relief, smiled, and then straightened her hair, gi and belt. When I finished wrapping the new brown belt around her waist, she smiled and held her head high, knowing she had just passed a difficult examination!
